Country Music Association Artist Stephen Michael Apatow (Founder of Humanitarian Resource Institute and Global Arts Integration Into Education Initiative) has a message for the millions families, nonprofit organizations, small businesses and corporations in crisis: Someone Cares !  Our focus, to get assistance to every victim, in every community across the United States... on the global scale, every UN member country.

UNArts.org: Rock The World: Citizen Journalism - Reaching Our Leaders

United States

The size and scope of our current economic emergency has it's roots in criminal predatory lending, mortgage and appraisal fraud, with many crime victims left in a state of economic despair, for the most part without emergency assistance.   It's time that our leaders understand the full scope of this economic emergency:
  • 18.2 % Unemployment: Center for Labor Market Studies at Boston's Northeastern University - There are now more than five unemployed workers for every job opening in the United States. -- New York Times, 26 June 2009.
  • 1.5 million foreclosures in the first 6 months of 2009 (CNN),  with 8-12 million foreclosures projected for the next 4 years. The current focus is emergency intervention to stop the arterial bleeding, as banks have refused White House stabilization efforts to facilitate mortgage modifications and principal writedowns.  Crime victims of predatory lending have asked for these loans to be removed from these banks, with mortgages contracts rewritten at fair market value, perhaps by a government program with FEMA type loans.
  • Bankruptcies at 6000 a day in March or one every 13 seconds (The New York Times: 3 April 2009).
  • About half of U.S. mortgages seen underwater by 2011 (Reuters, 8.5.2009).  This means that the crisis will continue to spiral out of control, again due to criminal predatory lending, mortgage and appraisal fraud.  This emergency requires modifications of every one of these mortgage instruments, property tax appraisals adjusted to fair market value, etc., etc.
The bottom line is that the household level across America is in crisis, either directly or indirectly. In an effort to stop this arterial bleeding, a call is being made for victims in crisis (families, nonprofit organizations, small businesses and corporations) to focus on citizen journalism as our next priority, to facilitate full disclosure (mayor to the White House and media).  If you are in crisis and in an economic emergency, your elected officials (municipal, state, federal), interfaith community and media need to understand the full scope of your dilemma.  The objective is for you to (1)  write these stories, your trials, impact on your family (or organization) and current needs for stabilization, (2) for you to identify your target audience and (3) to advance a communication strategy, with emphasis on FAX communication of that material directly to:
  • Local, state and national elected officials: Available by zip code on Congress.org.
  • Local, state and national media networks, contact information resource is a starting point available through Media Awareness Project: .  Again FAX is prioritized, but an email backup can be accessed on the Congress.org: Media Guide that provides forms to send your message by form to national and local media contacts.
  • This represents a starting point, use creativity in regards to the development of your communication strategy.

UNArts.org: Rock the World: Local Events to Spotlight Unmet Needs of Frontline Programs

Rock The World:  "Bridging Unmet Needs to Untapped Resources"  Artists/professionals, arts organizations, music labels (management, arrangers, producers), film production and media companies asked to join together in the coordination of local events to spotlight the size and scope of unmet needs on the community level, strategic planning and development, with emphasis on reaching families and organizations in crisis, that have fallen through the cracks.  Additional information is available on the Global Arts Integration Into Education Initiative web site:

The goal is not to live in denial as our heroin fix for the day, only to be crushed by reality, forced into decision making in response to a crisis, that could have been completely avoided, but now is 100 times larger.

Looking forward to progress,
