Humanitarian Resource Institute is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, established with a mission focus to "Bridge Unmet Needs to Untapped Resources" through the development of initiatives associated with economic, social, cultural and humanitarian issues worldwide.

Remembering The Less Fortunate

During this holiday season many will be caught in the grips of challenges that must be remembered as we pray for leadership in the new year.

Remembering our troops and their families:

In 2011, more US soldiers killed themselves than were killed in combat.

When guns fall silent and ceasefires are agreed, wars live on in the minds of the men and women who fought them. And a killer still stalks them, more deadly than the enemies they once faced. -- US war woe: Suicide kills more soldiers than combat: RT, 23 December 2011.

6,303 U.S. service members have died in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. -- Remembering 6303 Fallen Troops - Human Rights Day 2011: HRI:UNArts, 12 December 2011.

U.S. Army Suicide Prevention Program: Crisis Intervention and Other Resources.

Remembering those devastated by the economic crisis in the United States and abroad:

Squeezed by rising living costs, a record number of Americans – nearly 1 in 2 – have fallen into poverty or are scraping by on earnings that classify them as low income. - U.S. Poverty: Census Finds Nearly Half Of Americans Are Poor Or Low-Income; Huffington Post, 17 December 2011.

Remembering the devastation of hunger and homelessness in American Cities - U.S. Conference of Mayors Hunger and Homelessness Survey:  December 2011.

Many have been abandoned in 2011, with widespread suffering, leaving countless families devastated this holiday season...

"Arts Integration Into Education," through the "United Nations Arts Initiative" is working to "Bridge Unmet Needs to Untapped Resources," through strategic planning, critical analysis, expert think tank development for background discussions, peer reviewed data compilation and communications that engage decision makers and target audiences on the grassroots level in 192 United Nations member countries.

Efforts continue to advance solution oriented strategic plans for relief operations, stabilization, legal assistance and support systems for families:
